2 Chicks and a Broom is the vision of founder Candace Mills, who in 2002, decided there had to be an easier way to pay the bills during college. She picked up her first few clients, and in no time, Candace found herself in need of hiring a few extra “Chicks” to get the jobs done.

After several months in the cleaning business, Candace began developing health problems, which she attributed to the chemicals in cleaners she was using at her clients’ homes. From that moment forward, 2 Chicks became an all-natural company. Candace started using only those products that meet standards for being completely all natural and immediately, she was healthy and happy again.

In 2008, Candace hung up her broom and sold the company to Kip and Kelly Uhlhorn, recent transplants from New York City. They plan to continue Candace’s legacy in addition to opening the 2 Chicks and a Broom retail store, selling only all-natural cleaning and home products.

With more than 35 Chicks on staff, 2 Chicks and a Broom thrives as Memphis’ only all-natural cleaning service. It now boasts a client roster with more than 1,000 homes and businesses in the Memphis area.
